Hide your tracks

** TURN DOWN VOLUME BEFORE PLAYING VIDEOS **

When you visit a webpage, you leave tracks of where you've been. Even after you close your browser, a digital footprint remains. This means that someone can see which sites you've been looking at online.  It may be safer to access information on the Internet from a trusted friend’s house, your workplace, or a library.

There are ways to cover your online tracks, including removing your browsers history, cookies, cache files, AutoComplete information, and trash.

In the web browser window click on Tools. In the drop down menu that opens you will see an option titled Internet Options at bottom of the menu. Select this option and it will bring up a new window. In this window you will have to click three buttons to cover your tracks.

1- Delete Cookies
2- Delete Files
3- Clear History

After clearing these items click OK and exit internet explorer. If you continue to browse this website or any other that you do not wish others to be aware of you will have to repeat this process again.

There are many browsers and not all can be covered here. For this reason, we recommend that on a Windows PC you use the Firefox web browser to make sure you have covered all your tracks.
